It can be challenging to serve a dinner that makes everyone happy. But for families whose daily meal plan has to account for food allergies, it can seem impossible. When my older sister was first diagnosed with a high gluten intolerance, my entire family changed our lifestyle and eating habits. My mom, the amazing chef that she is, loaded up on easy gluten-free family dinner recipes that we all really loved. We started using gluten-free pancake mixes for breakfast, getting gluten-free snacks in our lunch boxes, and making cauliflower pizza bases for dinner.

The most important lesson in all of this was that if you do it right, eating a gluten-free diet doesn’t have to be boring or taste less indulgent. Plus, when the whole family was eating gluten-free, my sister felt less like she was giving up on something and more like we were all in it together.
