This beef and green bean recipe uses ground beef and green beans, both budget-friendly ingredients. (You can substitute ground chicken or ground turkey.)

Serve this easy ground beef with rice recipe for a complete meal. If you’re feeling inspired, whip up some crispy spring rolls or crab rangoons.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound green beans, trimmed (leave whole or cut into smaller pieces)
  • 3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 – 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • crushed red pepper flakes (optional)


This is how you make it:

  1. Cook the ground beef in a skillet until browned and cooked through, falling apart during cooking. Drain fat.
  2. Add the green beans and cook, stirring, for about 5 minutes or until crisp.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the garlic, ginger, and soy sauce. Pour into the pan. Cook for about 3 more minutes. Add crushed red pepper flakes if desired. Serve over rice.
