Most of us like our evening tea or coffee with some fresh and delicious cookies as a side dish.

Dip the cookies in a warm cup chai is a common ritual in Indian households.

It does something indescribable to the tea and the biscuit.

These crunchy treats are perfect to grab when you’re in a rush.

Here are five homemade cookie recipes.

To combine ghee and sugar in a bowl. Add the saffron-milk mixture, cardamom powder and nutmeg powder and mix well.

Then add the flour and milk and knead to a soft dough.

Roll out the dough, sprinkle with pistachios and almonds and cut into square shapes.

Bake for 15 minutes, let the cookies cool and store in an airtight container.

Chocolate and oat cookies

These delicious chocolate and oat cookies are a favorite with kids and adults alike.

Mix flour, baking powder and baking soda and set aside. Beat butter and sugar together.

Add egg, vanilla essence, flour mixture, oats, chocolate chips and grated apple and mix well.

Place the mixture in square molds on a greased baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes.

And it’s done!

In a bowl, combine whole wheat flour, cinnamon powder and sugar.

Add some cooled butter and knead it into a soft and supple dough. Wrap the dough in paper and let it cool for half an hour.

Roll out the dough, cut into cookie shapes and let it cool for 10 minutes.

Bake for 10 minutes in a preheated oven and enjoy.

Mix flour, baking powder and baking soda and set aside.

To merge ghee and powdered sugar in a separate bowl. Add the flour mixture, ravaalmond powder, pistachio powder and cardamom powder and knead well into a soft dough.

Roll up the dough and cut it into round shapes. Place on a baking tray, garnish with flaked almonds and bake for 20-25 minutes.


Beat the soft butter until smooth and airy. Add powdered sugar and beat again. Add flour and salt without kneading the mixture too much.

Smooth the dough, press gently with a fork to make a design and cut into biscuit shapes. Place the cookies on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

Bake in a preheated oven for 10 minutes and serve.
