Ingredients

  • 1 stick (8 tablespoons) butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup self-raising flour
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 can (29 ounces) pear halves in heavy syrup


This is how you make it:

  1. Melt the butter in a frying pan. Beat the sugar and flour together. Slowly stir in the milk and mix well. Pour the batter over the melted butter. Do not stir.
  2. Cut the pears in half and place them on top of the batter. Carefully pour the syrup from the can over it. Do not stir.
  3. Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for about 30 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
