An Italian Grandma's Classic Italian Butter Balls Recipe

My mother’s butterball cookie recipe always reminds me of the vacation and family. But this easy Italian cookie recipe is always good! Summer, spring, winter or autumn.

Servings: Makes 25 to 30 cookies

This is how you make it:

  1. Place all the ingredients for the biscuits in a bowl and mix by hand.
  2. Roll into 1-inch balls and place on an ungreased baking tray (they don’t expand, so don’t need to be spread out).
  3. Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 15 minutes.
  4. Let the cookies cool for a minute or two or until you can pick them up without breaking them. Pour the 1/2 cup powdered sugar into a small bowl. Roll the balls in the sugar. (They will not fully clothe yet.)
  5. When the cookies are completely cool, roll them again in the sugar to get the entire layer.
