Chris Hemsworth just shared his favorite pre-workout shake recipe

Chris Hemsworth has diligently documented his growing successes over the past two years on his Instagram, sharing clips of his workouts and even demonstrating accessible workout routines with the help of his trainer Luke Zocchi and stunt double Bobby Holland Hanton.

The actor has also offered a number of recipes from his Centr health and fitness app, including a high-protein lamb and vegetable soup. In a recent video on Instagram, Hemsworth (along with Zocchi and Hanton) whips up another treat: a chocolate espresso protein shake that promises to give you the energy boost you need at the gym, Thor-style.

“You’ll love this one, guys, this is a choc espresso smoothie,” Hemsworth says. “One of my favorite snacks, too, a little pre-workout drink if you like, because you’ve got the caffeine, healthy carbs, all the good stuff.”

Hemsworth and Zocchi throw the following into a blender and blend: ice cream, frozen bananas, oats, protein powder, coconut coffee, cocoa, and almond milk. “It’s like ice cream,” says the Thor: Love and Thunder star. “Easy to make, pop coffee in it for energy.”

Zocchi and the rest of Hemsworth’s team had to get extra creative with the shake recipes while filming love and thunder last year: He ate up to 10 meals a day to keep those hulking muscles in place. “Every third meal he’d be so over food, so I’d bring him a protein shake with a double scoop of protein, banana, almond butter, two dates, and a little salt to give him a break from eating,” he said.
