Mixologist Patrick Abalos made a Ketel One Espresso Martini and a Johnnie Walker “Stir Crazy”. The top 15 regional finalists compete in Nashville for the title of 2022 US Bartender of the Year as USBG Presents World Class Sponsored by Diageo. The competition is open to the public Monday and Tuesday, June 20-21, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Virgin Hotel Nashville. Stop by the hotel lobby to pick up a toke to watch the game.
Kettle One Espresso Martini
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Kettle One
- .75 oz coffee liqueur
- 1 oz fresh espresso
- .5 oz Turbinado Syrup
- 2 dashes of saline
- coffee beans
Preparation†
- Cool coupe glass with pebble ice.
- Mix all ingredients in a mixing tin. Shake vigorously for 7-10 seconds.
- Dump ice cream from coupe glass. Double sieving in glass.
- Garnish with three coffee beans.
Johnnie Walker “Stir Crazy”
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Johnnie Walker Black Label
- 1.25 oz Highball Cordial
- 4 oz sparkling water
- Lime
- Orange
Preparation†
- Fill 10 oz collins or similar glass with ice
- Combine Johnnie Walker Black Label, highball cordial and then sparkling water.
- Stir gently – be careful not to stir too much or you will lose some of your bubbles from the sparkling water.
- Top with ice to fill the glass.
- Peel lime and orange at a 45 degree angle. With the pith facing you, squeeze the peel side over the glass to express the oils and place it on the side of the glass.
