Famous Buffalo Recipes You Can Make in Your Airfryer

Even after working in restaurants for most of my twenties, for years my evening meal consisted of pushing buttons on the microwave or rushing into a food delivery app. A friend once told me that my scrambled eggs were embarrassing. Embarrassing.

So while stuck at home during the pandemic, I decided enough was enough and made a vow to myself that I would no longer be a disappointment to my cooking-savvy friends and family. I would learn to cook a decent meal.

But where to start? I had no idea… and it certainly wasn’t easy to figure out. I set off more smoke detectors and threw away more rotten products than my wallet would like to admit. But then, after countless hours of scrolling through TikTok (as we all did at the height of covid), I unlocked the secret to making foolproof, gourmet meals…

I discovered air fryers.

Buying an air fryer was a game changer. Whatever voodoo magic makes it work, I have no idea — but it saved me tons of money in the long run and made me less embarrassing in front of boyfriends-to-be and my mom.

Bonus: A hot air fryer can play a key role in creating some of Buffalo’s best, most iconic dishes. Check out what I like to make at home!

Making crispy, juicy chicken wings is Airfryer 101. They’re the first thing I’ve ever made in my airfryer and are literally foolproof – even for a pathetic wannabe chef like me. All you have to do is pop the wings in the airfryer for half an hour and shake it every few minutes. When they are good and crispy, mix them with some butter and Frank’s RedHot. Or for less heat, try marinating them in some chivettas beforehand for some barbecue goodness. Mmmmm. Don’t believe me how easy this is? View Frank’s own recipe here and see for yourself.

Beef on Weck

Cooking your roast beef in the air fryer makes it juicy, moist and most importantly, oh so tasty. I love whipping up beef this way so my hands are free to toast the kimmelweck buns to perfection and pick out the perfect side (which to me, frankly, is usually just a bag of chips). View the airfryer method here and then put together your sandwiches as explained here

Spaghetti Parmesan cheese

Try making this famous pasta dish in your air fryer for an easy chef dupe. Boil your spaghetti, mix it with some of your favorite sauce and toss it in the deep fryer. The secret (shhh) is to cover your pasta with parmesan romano before dipping it completely in fresh mozzarella. a lot and a lot of mozzarella. Find out how to do this here

Sure, you could fancy making your grandma’s recipe from scratch, but for an amateur (lazy) chef like me, frozen pierogies tossed in the air fryer and drizzled with sour cream are one of the easiest midnight snacks to enjoy. to make all the time. See here

Chicken finger Sub

In just about ten minutes, you can get a healthy twist on one of Buffalo’s favorite late-night dishes. And again, like the wings, these are ridiculously simple. Get the recipe here.
