of this season Worst Chefs The culinary boot camp featured 90s themes, but Anne and Jeff taught their recruits how to make different recipes within each theme. With their guidance, the cooking skills of the participants improved. Each episode featured a pre-heat challenge, with participants playing games and cooking, and a main course challenge. In the end, Jeff chose Jodie to compete with him in the final, against Anne and Tracey. They cooked a restaurant-quality three-course meal for guest judges Ilan Hall, Nilou Motamed and Ayesha Nurdjaja. Tracey won the competition and took home the $25,000 prize for her charity, the Surfrider Foundation.
Even Worst Chefs Known for his wacky and wacky antics, the show can be surprisingly inspiring. Jeff had great comedic timing, but he was also a patient teacher who passed on his vast knowledge of cooking and baking with kindness and care. As his recruits learned and improved, they were very proud of their successes. They could return to their families and cook for them. As Worst Chefs comes to an end, here are all of Jeff’s recipes.
Episode 1 – TV Dinner with Mini Meatloaf
Worst Chefs kicked off the first main course challenge by asking the recruits to replicate lofty versions of classic TV dinners popular in the 90s. Jeff thought Jennie made the best mini meatloaf TV dinner and selected her as the winner of the Worst Chefs challenge. The full recipe can be found here food network clutch.
Episode 2 – Steak Oscar with Stone Crab and Airy Béarnaise Sauce
For the second main course challenge, both Anne and Jeff taught their teams how to make the classic and elegant Steak Oscar, a French dish from the late 1890s. Jeff explained to the Worst Chefs recruits that the original dish consisted of a fillet topped with lumps of crabmeat, covered in an emulsified butter sauce, with a side of asparagus. The Blue Team recruit who best replicated Jeff’s Steak Oscar dish was Jennie, who won her second challenge in a row. Click here food network link for full recipe.
Episode 3 – Pork Schnitzel with Blueberry Sauce, German Potato Salad and Braised Cabbage
For Episode 3, the Worst Chefs bootcamp was transformed into WC Peaks, a winter chalet. For the main course challenge, Anne and Jeff demonstrated how to make classic European schnitzel with potato wedges. According to Anne, schnitzel is traditionally a very thin, breaded and fried piece of veal, but in Jeff’s recipe, pork was used. The winner of Jeff’s Blue Team was Matthew. Episode 4 – Thai Green Curry with Red Snapper, Jumbo Shrimp and Coconut Rice
The Worst Chefs The main dish challenge in episode 4 required the celebrities to learn how to make seafood curry dishes. Jeff scared off his recruits when he told them to fillet a whole fish. Episode 5 – Blueberry Bag with Poppy Seed Glaze and Candied Cashews
The Worst Chefs recruits were introduced to the sweeter side of the kitchen in Episode 5, with a main course challenge where they were asked to make fruit-filled pastry bags. They learned how to make their own dough and used fillings, icing and nuts of their choice. Matthew won his second challenge with a peach bag, inspired by his grandmother’s peach cobbler. Episode 6 – Gorgonzola and Pear Agnolotti with Sage and Walnut Brown Butter Sauce
For episode 6, the Worst Chefs recruits were asked to “im-pasta-ble” mission to make fresh pasta and sauce from scratch. According to Anne, agnolotti is very similar to ravioli, but instead of two pieces of pasta stuck together, it is filled and folded in half. The Worst Chefs recruits had to recreate the pasta recipe, but gave their own flavor to agnolotti and sauce. Jodie won the challenge for the second time. Episode 7 – Three Course Meal Final
Jodie competed against Tracey for the Worst Chefs championship, and although she didn’t win, her meal was delicious. Jeff and Jodie made the menu together, but during the competition, Jodie had to cook the entire meal herself. Jeff was allowed to coach her, but was not allowed to touch or taste anything. For the first course, Jodie made fried halloumi “curds” with muhammara and pickled raw vegetables. Course two consisted of black powder rubbed cured rib eye with black garlic chimichurri, crunchy pickled fresno chiles and melting sweet potatoes. The third course was a butterscotch crème brûlée dessert with pink peppercorn whipped cream and white chocolate popcorn with sea salt. Jeff’s first Worst Chefs in America Celebrity Edition: That’s So 90s season was a great success. He devised recipes that taught the recruits important skills and helped them become better cooks. Although his recruit didn’t win the competition, he proved that he was a great teacher who passed on his knowledge in a patient, kind and entertaining way.
