Gujarat is a region known for its vibrant presentation of food and flavors. You will find a large amount of comfort food from the region, which you can enjoy every day. But even if you eat out in a Gujarati place, you will also come across variations of Kathiawari food. Kathiawar is a peninsula in western Gujarat that is part of the Saurashtra region of the state. The coastal area, like the rest of Gujarat, has a large vegetarian population. However, what sets Kathiawari cuisine apart from Gujarati cuisine is the distinctive use of spices. Not only do they make the dishes with lots of spices, but they also use a generous amount of garlic and onions that give it an extra kick.
