Meaty, creamy, almost fancy beef Stroganoff recipe

Meaty, creamy, almost fancy beef Stroganoff recipe

Most stroganoff consists of a few staples: beef, baby bella mushrooms, broth, sour cream, mustard, and egg noodles. For quick and easy beef stroganoff, it is common to use sirloin or ribeye steaks for a quick sear and tender result. Large chunks of beef chuck are only used for slow-cooked, braised versions of stroganoff, as it takes much longer to tenderize. The best way to go is to buy sirloin steaks made for stir-frying, which cook quickly.

To make this classic dish a little more special, we’re adding a few ingredients to the list of staples. Deglazing the vegetables with cognac gives the sauce a rich caramel flavor, complemented by earthy herb thyme. You will also need salt, pepper, butter, flour and some fresh parsley for the garnish.
