Giada De Laurentiis’ ‘Divine’ Italian Dessert Cocktail Has an Unexpected Twist

On April 29, De Laurentiis posted a snapshot of some beautifully colored summer cocktails on her Instagram page @thegiadzy. She posted it with the caption: “Lambrusco + Amaro + Orange + Amarena Cherries = One seriously tasty cocktail. Top it off with some sparkling water and it feels like you’re lounging in Northern Italy all weekend.”

The five-star summer cocktail might just be one of the easiest you’ve ever tried to conquer. Now the recipe takes ten minutes to complete from start to finish, and you only need half a dozen ingredients. The ingredients are pretty simple, so grab some Lambrusco wine, Amaro, and Amarena cherries, just to name a few. De Laurentiis recommends taking St. Agrestis or Cynar for the Amaro, a bitter Italian liqueur with notes of various herbs and flowers.

The drink is very easy to recreate as the first step is to add most of the individual drinks together in a cocktail glass. At the end, garnish your cocktail with those delicious cherries!
