The Genshin Impact Spices From the West event is a limited-time event from the 2.6 update in which players help an NPC from Sumeru named Nazafarin by using “Fragrant Seasonings” to create elaborate spicy dishes. The resulting meals can be offered to characters in the Serenitea Pot to earn Companionship EXP.
In addition, there are plenty of other rewards available for successfully completing a certain number of recipes, including Primogems, Mora, and Character EXP Materials. New recipes unlock every day for the first 7 days of the event, so be sure to come back to the Spices from the West Event Guide to learn how to complete each recipe.

Western Herbs Instructions
The Spices From the West event is live from 10:00 Server Time May 14, 2022 to June 7, 2022 03:59 Server time. When the event ends, all unused fragrant herbs and fragrant dishes expire.
To fully participate in the event, you must be at least Adventure Rank 28:
- if you are above Adventure Rank 20you can follow recipes and make fragrant herbs.
- To use the Herbs to make dishes, you must: Adventure Rank 28 and have unlocks the Serenitea Pot and completed the “Idle Teapot Talk” scavenger hunt.
To start the event, talk to Nazafarin on the dock in Liyue harbor. You can then select a fragrant spice recipe to try.
Make fragrant herbs
Each fragrant spice recipe calls for different ingredients, which you may need to collect ahead of time if you don’t already have them.
Once you’ve selected a seasoning to come up with, you’ll need to: add any recipe to the jar at the right time† Notice marked ingredient on the banner above the pot, and then press the spoon button when the moving needle on the slide passes under the jar about the corresponding zone†
The golden spoons under the slider represent the attempts you have left. This one decreases by 1 if you make a mistake and also when the needle reaches either side of the slide. Don’t wait too long to add your ingredients!
If you follow the recipe correctly, you will receive the Fragrant Seasoning. You can repeat this process until you have reached 3 successful attempts.
Use spices to make fragrant dishes
You can make fragrant dishes by using the fragrant spices on a delicious dish. Keep in mind that dishes you’ve converted will expire when the event ends, so make sure you use them before June 7th†
Invite companions to taste
Offer the Fragrant Dish to a Genshin Impact character in your Serenitea Pot to receive 100 Companionship EXP (if they like it!) and hear their reaction to the interesting dish you created. Each time you unlock a new recipe, the limit on how many times your party can get EXP is increased by 3.
On the event page you can see how many times you have earned Companionship EXP; during the event, the maximum Companionship EXP you can earn is 21.

If your characters all already have maximum Companionship EXP, you’ll receive a warning before offering them the dish.
