Chef Mara says, instead of carving the turkey at the table, take the bird apart and place it on a platter. That way, more people get the pieces they really want.

Do not cut breast meat while it is on the bird, remove the breast completely and cut against the grain. This makes the breast meat even more tender and each piece gets a skin.

Invest in a slicing blade to make very clean slices.
