We can never get enough of delicious desserts and cold drinks this season. After all, it’s the cool sweet treats, be it ice creams, smoothies, or other desserts, that keep us sane when the scorching heat continues to bug us. Many of us visit restaurants or cafes to enjoy these delicacies while some people also prefer to stay at home and make some good and rich desserts to enjoy with the family. So, if you’re looking for such quick dessert options that you can make at home, Chef Kunal Kapur’s rose jigarthanda recipe video on Instagram is for you. He used gond khatira in the dish known for curing dehydration and treating heat stroke – something very important in summer.
Gond khatira – 1 tablespoon
Rooh Afza – 3 tablespoons
Water – ½ cup
Ice – ½ cup (or as required)
Condensed milk – ¼ cup
Mango ice cream – 1 scoop
Tooti frooti to garnish
How do you make rose jigarthanda?
1. First take the stated amount of gond khatira in a bowl and soak it in some water for about two hours.
2. Now start making the rose jigarthanda. Take a glass and add the soaked gond khatira. Put in Rooh Afza, condensed milk and ice cubes. For garnish, add a scoop of mango ice cream and top with colorful tooti frooti. Rose jigarthanda is ready.

Looking for a healthy drink option? Chef Kunal Kapur previously shared a recipe for a muskmelon (kharbuja) smoothie that is perfect for the lingering summer season. Muskmelon is packed with vitamin C, fiber, antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties that help us detox, digest and boost immunity. To make the smoothie you just need to take chopped melon, milk, honey, chopped celery, ginger, nutmeg, black pepper powder, vanilla extract and coconut water. Place all ingredients in a blender jar and mix them all. Muskmelon smoothie is ready.
Apart from this, summers are also all about sipping Frappuccino. Do you agree? Kunal Kapur once shared a recipe for caramel Frappuccino on Instagram. First make a caramel sauce. Take sugar and sprinkle some water and lemon juice in a pan and let it turn golden brown. When the sugar is caramelized, add the cream and mix well. Caramel sauce is ready. For the main drink, mix some ice cubes, milk, coffee powder, vanilla extract and of course the caramel sauce (you have prepared). Pour it into a glass before serving. Use some whipped cream for the topping.
I hope you enjoy the season in the best way possible and let these recipes help you with that.
