When it comes to Thanksgiving, a few things come to mind: turkey, pumpkin pie, stuffing, pageants, and more. And one thing we always think about Thanksgiving are the leftovers.
But what happens if you’re on day three of leftovers and you’re sick of eating the same plate? Well, you pull out the cookbooks, search online, or just have some fun and make something new with those leftovers.
Our big question every year is what can we make with our Thanksgiving leftovers that will keep us from getting sick of the same old, same old? Lucky for us, we have some ideas and suggestions that we think will make post-Thanksgiving meals a lot more fun than a plate of reheated stuffing and turkey.
Thanksgiving Leftover Recipes: What Can You Make With Your Thanksgiving Leftovers?
Turkey Pot Pie
We love a good pot pie and if you want to shake things up and use up that leftover turkey, a Turkey Pot pie is the way to go. We’ve made these many times and while we don’t necessarily follow the same recipe every time, we do have one of these Taste of Home which we love and think is perfect for anyone who wants to eat up those leftovers and enjoy something that doesn’t scream Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving Crunch Wrap
If you like Taco Bell, then you probably know all about their Crunchwraps. And as fans of theirs, we’ve actually written about it how to make a duplicate of the iconic menu item Taco Bell at home. But have you ever thought about shaking up the Crunchwrap and making it more seasonal? Thanks to Delightful, we now have the coolest way to use up those Thanksgiving leftovers – by making a Crunchwrap! The cool thing about this recipe is that you can make it your own or you can follow Delish’s steps and really go all out with all the leftovers. Turkey, cheese, mashed potatoes, and maybe even some stuffing in a flour tortilla sounds like a great meal to us.
Turkey Tikka Massala
We love the New York Times cooking Section and when we got a chance to browse their turkey recipes, we fell in love with so many of them. It also gave us a lot of inspiration and reasons to have leftovers. However, our favorite dish is their Turkey Tikka Masala.
As fans of classic Tikka Masala, we love the idea of shaking things up by using turkey as our protein. And with this recipe, we get everything we need for a perfect after-Thanksgiving dinner that’s nothing like our turkey dinner of the day.
There are so many options when it comes to making a turkey salad. Whether you opt for a mayo-based salad like macaroni or potato salads or opt for a leafy green salad, there are plenty of salad options when it comes to that leftover meat. While Delightful has a great leafy greens recipe, we have one ourselves that we like that is more in line with that mayo based salad.
Our turkey salad consists of cooked turkey pieces, mayonnaise, dried cranberries, a little salt and pepper, some chopped pecans (or choose the nut of your choice) and a little stone-ground mustard. It’s about using as much or as little of each of the ingredients to create the perfect salad for you. (We like ours a little creamier, so we’ll definitely add more mayonnaise and mustard.)
